Steps

Type your message like normal

Click into the message input for any chat and write as you normally would.

Highlight the part you want to style

Select a word or phrase with your mouse or keyboard, same as in any text editor.

A toolbar pops up above your selection

It shows three options: Bold, Italic, and Strikethrough.

Click one

Your text updates on the spot, already in the formatting WhatsApp expects.

A couple of things worth knowing

Styles stack — select the same text again and layer on a second format if you want both bold and italic on one word. And what you see is exactly what your customer sees: the formatting renders on their end on WhatsApp the same way it looks in your input box, no surprises.
