Delete confirm
Delete a message you sent in error or no longer want shown in the chat history.

Steps

Open the chat

Navigate to the chat with the message.

Open message actions

Hover over the message and open the actions menu.

Click Delete

Confirm the deletion.

Tips

  • Deletion behavior in WhatsApp depends on time elapsed - older messages may still be visible to the recipient.
  • If you need to retract something sensitive, act fast.
