DelightChat alternatives: a flat-priced WhatsApp inbox

DelightChat bills by support tickets and marketing contacts, so the price follows your volume instead of your team size. Here is what it costs in 2026, what it does well for Shopify brands, and where a flat per-connection WhatsApp inbox fits instead.

DelightChat alternatives: a flat-priced WhatsApp inbox

Key takeaways

  • ✓ DelightChat sells three tiers (Startup, Scale, Growth) at $29, $99, and $299 a month, metered by billable support tickets and marketing contacts rather than seats, checked directly on delightchat.io/pricing in October 2026
  • ✓ A ticket becomes billable only when a human replies, and overage is $10 per 100 tickets on Startup, $8 on Scale, and $5 on Growth; extra marketing contacts cost $10, $5, and $3 per 1,000 on the same tiers
  • ✓ WhatsApp's own charges are billed separately from every DelightChat plan, and extra WhatsApp numbers are $25 a month each, so the plan price is not the whole bill
  • ✓ DelightChat is built for Shopify D2C brands, with order data in the inbox, abandoned cart recovery, cash-on-delivery verification, and review collection, none of which Clapvo offers
  • ✓ Clapvo prices per WhatsApp connection with no ticket or contact metering: Gold is $15 a month for 1 connection and 5 team members, with a 7-day free trial and no credit card, checked on clapvo.com/pricing in October 2026
  • ✓ Clapvo is WhatsApp-only and has no native Shopify integration; if your real need is Shopify marketing automation or Instagram, Facebook, and email in one inbox, DelightChat is the better fit

What is DelightChat, and why do teams look for DelightChat alternatives?

DelightChat describes itself on its homepage as "Omnichannel Customer Support & WhatsApp Marketing Software," built for D2C brands on Shopify. It puts WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, email, and a live chat widget into one inbox, and it connects to Shopify so your agents can see and edit order data while they reply. On top of the inbox it runs WhatsApp automations that Shopify merchants care about: abandoned cart recovery, cash-on-delivery order verification, and automatic review collection. The company says it serves "1000+ D2C brands." Those are DelightChat's own figures, and we haven't independently confirmed them.

That is a real product with a clear audience, and it is much more than a shared inbox. It is a customer support desk and a marketing automation tool aimed at one kind of store.

Most people searching for alternatives aren't unhappy with that pitch. They're a different kind of buyer. Some don't run Shopify. Some sell services, run a clinic, or handle sales conversations, so order data and cart recovery are irrelevant to them. Others like the product but want a bill that doesn't change with ticket volume or list size. When the thing you need is "everyone on the team answers the same WhatsApp number," paying for a Shopify automation suite and a metered ticket counter is more machinery than the job requires.

How much does DelightChat cost in 2026?

DelightChat publishes three tiers on its pricing page, which we checked directly in October 2026. A 14-day free trial is available, and the page says no credit card is required.

Startup is $29 a month. It includes 500 tickets a month, 2,500 marketing contacts, 5 team members, and 1 Shopify store. Extra tickets cost $10 per 100, and extra contacts cost $10 per 1,000.

Scale is $99 a month. It includes 2,000 tickets, 10,000 marketing contacts, 20 team members, and 3 Shopify stores. Overage drops to $8 per 100 tickets and $5 per 1,000 contacts.

Growth is $299 a month. It includes 6,000 tickets, 30,000 marketing contacts, 50 team members, and unlimited Shopify stores. Overage is $5 per 100 tickets and $3 per 1,000 contacts. Growth is also the only tier that includes a dedicated account manager; the pricing page marks that feature with a cross on Startup and Scale. Custom plans are available for higher volumes.

How DelightChat defines a ticket matters, and it is more generous than the word suggests. Its pricing page says a ticket is generated whenever a customer messages you, but it counts as billable only when a human replies to it. Conversations your team never replies to don't count toward your allowance. A marketing contact is one unique phone number, no matter how many messages you send to it.

Several costs sit outside the plan price. WhatsApp's own charges are billed separately, and the pricing page points you to Meta's published rates. Each extra WhatsApp number is $25 a month. The AI assistant add-on includes a free monthly token allowance, then costs $1 per 100K tokens at DelightChat's current promotional rate, an 80 percent discount off the standard $5 per 100K listed on the same page, so confirm the live price before budgeting around it. The back in stock add-on runs $10, $20, or $30 a month depending on your plan.

To see how the metering behaves, take a Startup customer who handled 700 billable tickets and held 4,500 contacts in a month. That is 200 tickets over the allowance, or $20, and 2,000 contacts over, or $20. The month comes to $69 before any WhatsApp charges, more than double the $29 headline. This is simple arithmetic from the published rates, not a DelightChat quote, and the right tier for your volume may be a different one entirely. The point is that the number you plan around is the number of conversations and contacts you have, which you only partly control.

Does DelightChat's price include WhatsApp message fees?

No. DelightChat runs on the official WhatsApp Business Platform, so Meta's per-message charges apply on top of whichever tier you pick. DelightChat's pricing page says as much and links out to Meta's rate information instead of folding the cost into the plan.

That matters more from October 1, 2026, when Meta begins charging for service messages beyond a free monthly allowance per number. Our service message pricing guide covers the mechanics. If you're modeling a total monthly cost, treat the DelightChat tier as one line and Meta's charges as another. Our breakdown of WhatsApp shared inbox pricing walks through how to compare plans on that basis, whatever tool you end up choosing.

DelightChat vs Clapvo: what each one actually does

Set side by side, the two products overlap on a shared WhatsApp inbox and little else.

DelightChat's strength is Shopify. Order data appears next to the conversation, and agents can act on it without switching tabs. Abandoned cart and checkout recovery runs through WhatsApp, cash-on-delivery orders can be verified by message, and review requests go out automatically. It is also omnichannel: Instagram DMs and comments, Facebook Messenger, email, and a live chat widget land in the same place as WhatsApp. If your store lives in Shopify and your customers reach you on several channels, that integration is the product.

Clapvo is narrower on purpose. Its feature list and docs describe a WhatsApp workspace: a shared inbox where the team claims and assigns chats, private notes, a kanban board for moving conversations through stages, message templates and quick replies, contact management with bulk spreadsheet import, scheduled and bulk campaigns with sender rotation across several connected numbers, and role-based access for the team. That is the whole channel list. Clapvo supports WhatsApp only. It has no Instagram, Facebook, email, or live chat inbox.

Clapvo also does not connect to Shopify, WooCommerce, or any storefront. Order data doesn't flow in automatically, and there is no abandoned cart automation and no cash-on-delivery verification. A team with a developer can send messages programmatically through the API, but that is an integration someone has to build. We spell out the same limits in our guide to WhatsApp for e-commerce, which also covers what a small store can do with templates and a shared inbox alone. If you need Shopify automation to work out of the box, Clapvo does not replace DelightChat, and we'd rather say so than have you find out after a trial.

One more real difference worth naming: Clapvo connects a WhatsApp number by scanning a QR code from Linked Devices, the same way WhatsApp Web pairs to a phone, rather than onboarding through Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform the way DelightChat does. That changes what each tool can offer. DelightChat's Platform-based setup is what makes official Green Tick verification and a stable API connection possible. A linked-device connection depends on the paired phone staying online and signed in.

What does Clapvo cost in comparison?

Clapvo's pricing page, checked in October 2026, lists one paid plan for most teams. Gold is $15 a month per WhatsApp connection, or about 17 percent less on annual billing, and it includes 1 connection and 5 team members. There is no ticket allowance, no contact cap that triggers an overage, and no per-reply meter. The page describes pricing as per connection rather than per seat or per message. A second number is another connection at the same rate. Teams with larger needs can ask about a custom plan with tailored pricing.

The 7-day free trial needs no credit card, and it includes the full Gold workspace with limits of 3 connections, 3 team members, 1,000 contacts, and 10,000 campaign messages. Those trial limits are worth knowing before you import a large list.

Put the two bills next to each other for the same 700-ticket month. On Clapvo, a team that fits in 5 seats pays $15 whether it answers 70 chats or 7,000. The comparison isn't entirely fair, because DelightChat's price also buys the Shopify tooling, the official Business Platform connection, and the extra channels. But if you wouldn't use those, you'd be paying for them anyway.

When is DelightChat the better fit?

DelightChat is the better choice for a Shopify brand that wants its support desk and its WhatsApp marketing in one tool. If recovering abandoned carts, verifying cash-on-delivery orders, confirming and tracking orders by message, and collecting reviews are actual revenue levers for you, those are the features to buy, and Clapvo doesn't have them. The same goes for any team that needs Instagram comments and DMs, Facebook, and email routed into the same inbox as WhatsApp. DelightChat also offers help with WhatsApp Green Tick verification, which can matter for a brand building trust on the platform.

The metering is also not a flaw if your volume is low and steady. A small brand that stays inside 500 tickets and 2,500 contacts pays $29 a month, which is a low entry price for what the product does. The ticket definition is friendly too, since only conversations a human answers count.

When does a flat per-connection workspace win?

A flat workspace wins when your job is answering and organizing WhatsApp conversations and you want the cost to stay put. That describes a team of 3 to 20 people, support or sales or a clinic front desk, sharing one number. Nobody wants to check a ticket counter before the busy week, or watch a contact list creep past a threshold after an import.

It also wins when you don't use Shopify at all. Many teams that find DelightChat through search aren't D2C stores, and for them the Shopify layer is dead weight. If you sell services, coordinate bookings, or run sales follow-ups, you need an inbox that every teammate can open, assign from, and leave notes in. Our guide on WhatsApp CRM and kanban pipeline views shows how a stage-based board can stand in for a heavier tool.

Switching from DelightChat without losing your data

Your WhatsApp number and your data are separate things. Customer chats, contact lists, tags, and approved templates live in DelightChat's system, not in Meta's, so none of it moves automatically when you cancel. Export your contacts and templates before you leave, rebuild them in the new workspace, and send test messages in both directions before relying on it.

Moving a number off the official Business Platform and onto a linked-device tool like Clapvo is a different migration from switching between two Platform-based providers, so confirm the steps and any effect on features such as the green tick before you commit. If you rely on Shopify triggers or cart recovery today, plan how you'll replace them, because Clapvo won't.

If your actual need is Shopify automation and a multi-channel inbox, DelightChat is worth pricing at your real ticket and contact volume. If it's a shared WhatsApp inbox your whole team can use at a price that doesn't move with volume, the 7-day trial on Clapvo's pricing page is the fastest way to find out.

DelightChat is the Shopify-native, omnichannel suite, built for D2C brands that want support and marketing automation together. Clapvo is the narrower tool, a WhatsApp-only shared inbox for a team that wants a flat price and nothing it won't use.
