# Move cards between stages

> Drag and drop a chat between kanban stages.

Moving a card on the kanban board updates the stage assigned to that chat - whether you opened it from the board or from the chats module.

## Steps

    Navigate to the kanban module.

    Use search or filters to locate the chat.

    Grab the card and drop it in a new column.

## Tips

* Cards show tags, message previews, and status rows directly - you can usually decide where to move a card without opening it.
