# Change your password

> Update your account password from your profile.

Update your password regularly and any time you suspect it has been exposed.

## Before you start

* Know your current password
* Choose a strong new password

## Steps

  <Step title="Open your profile">
    Click your avatar and choose **My profile**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the Security tab">
    Switch to the security view.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter passwords">
    Type your current password and the new password (twice).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Confirm the change. Stay signed in or sign out and back in to verify.
  </Step>

## Tips

* If you cannot remember your current password, sign out and use the [forgot password flow](/docs/getting-started/sign-in-security).
* Use a unique password not used on other sites.
